It’s nearly Halloween, which means nearly the end of pumpkin season here in England, but I wanted to squeeze in a few more pumpkin related patterns because I’m not ready for it to be over yet. I made a cute pumpkin patch cup cozy which my son immediately stole, so I had to make another one for myself. I love the way the bobbles look like tiny pumpkins!
This pattern uses a 5dcb stitch, which is also known as the bobble stitch. To work a 5dcb you will need to work five unfinished double crochets into the same space, then finish the stitch by pulling the yarn through all of the loops on the hook. The bobble will then need to be popped through to the other side to form the pumpkins.
To make your own, you will need a 6mm crochet hook, some orange and green double knit yarn, which will be used two strands held together throughout the pattern, a pair of scissors, a yarn needle and a delicious drink to wrap when you are done.
