I have been making tons of these little baby booties to sell at my markets and craft fairs and they always go down really well as a gift for a new baby or pregnant mummy.
The booties are available in first size or newborn. To make them, you will need a 6mm crochet hook for first size, a 6.5mm hook for newborn, up to 30g of chunky yarn, a tape measure, a pair of scissors and a yarn needle. You could substitute the chunky yarn for two strands of double knit (light worsted) yarn held together.

The finished first size booties have a sole length of 3.75″. The finished newborn booties have a sole length of 4”. Please note that I tend to crochet quite tightly, so you may need to use a different sized hook to achieve these measurements. Measure the sole at the end of row 2 to check your gauge.
The booties are part of a set. You can find the matching chunky baby hat here.
